N.Otgonbaatar was born in the city of Darkhan in Darkhan-Uul aimag in 1970, and graduated as a physical culture teacher from the School of Physical Culture and Sports of the Mongolian National Teacher’s Training University in 2000. 
He began his professional career in 2006 with the daily newspaper “Ardyn Erkh” (People’s Right). In 2007 he worked as a reporter with the “Niigmiin Toli” (Social Mirror) newspaper, and then with “RGB” television and “Darkhan Times” newspaper in 2010. In 2019, he worked for the “Önöödör” daily, and in 2020, “Ündesnii Shuudan” (National Post) daily, and since 2022, he has been working as a reporter with the Social, Art and Culture Department of Ergelt.mn news site. His works have been published in Volume 88 of “Best Mongolian Features.” 
In 2025, he received the Mongolian State Award “Order of the Polar Star”.
